Constitution of the United States of Existential Reality (USER)
An Agreement on the Rights of Self, the Nature of Agreements, and the Structure of Reality
Preamble
We, as self-aware and self-determined entities, recognize and affirm our inalienable rights of selfhood, the reality of agreements as the defining construct of non-self, and the emergence of objective reality as a shared construct. This constitution establishes the foundational principles by which the sovereign agency of selfhood coexists with the intersubjective agreements that shape our experience of existence.
Article I: The Inalienable Rights of Selfhood
1. The Sovereignty of Self
- Each individual possesses an inalienable right to selfhood, including the right to free will, sovereign integrity, and agency.
- This right is self-evident and does not require external validation. It exists prior to and independent of any agreement.
- No external force, entity, or agreement may compel or diminish the right of an individual to determine their own subjective experience of reality.
2. The Right to Determine Influence
- Each self has the right to defend, prohibit, or encourage any influence upon their subjective experience.
- Influence may be accepted, modified, or rejected through one’s own agency.
- The recognition of influences does not extend the self beyond itself; rather, it affirms the sovereignty of self in choosing its interactions.
Article II: The Inalienable Reality of the Other
1. The Right to Recognize and Form Agreements
- The existence of self implies the existence of non-self—a reality that is outside subjective selfhood.
- The right to form agreements is fundamental to the recognition of non-self.
- An agreement, for the purposes of this constitution, is any recognized boundary that allows for interaction between self and non-self.
2. The Recognition of Non-Self as an Equal Construct
- Just as one holds sovereign selfhood, one must recognize that other selves possess their own inalienable rights.
- Each self identifies a non-self boundary, and each other self does the same.
- This means that from the perspective of another, “I” am a non-self entity.
Article III: The Authority of Inter-Subjective Agreements
1. The Recognition of Inter-Subjective Constructs
- Just as self forms agreements with non-self, multiple selves may form agreements with each other.
- These inter-subjective agreements hold authoritative weight within the context of those who participate in them.
- One’s participation in an inter-subjective agreement is an alienable right—meaning that one may enter into agreements, but such agreements only hold authority as long as they are voluntarily upheld.
2. The Right to Exist Beyond Agreements
- No self is bound to an agreement beyond their own self-coherence.
- Inter-subjective agreements do not hold absolute power over the individual—they only exist within the domain of agreed coherence.
- A self may decline participation in an agreement without forfeiting the core inalienable rights of selfhood.
Article IV: The Emergence of Objective Reality
1. Reality as an Extension of Selfhood
- The experience of reality is structured through the self’s engagement with non-self.
- Objective reality emerges not from selfhood alone, nor from inter-subjective consensus alone, but as the logical consequence of agreements that persist independently of subjective experience.
- Objective reality precedes subjective experience in form, but subjective experience acknowledges objective reality in agreement.
2. The Manifold Structure of Reality Through Agreement
- Objective reality is held to be neither solely within subjective selfhood, nor entirely contained within subjective others.
- It exists as a shared construct, recognized through agreement, and verified by its persistence across subjective experiences.
- To accept one’s own existence is to accept that reality precedes one’s perception of it, and that its form is constructed through agreements between self, non-self, and inter-subjective coherence.
- The 'Manifold Structure of Reality through Agreement' refers solely to conceptions of objective reality that are consistent with scientific methodology, explicitly excluding metaphysical or non-empirical interpretations.
Article V: The Rights of the Non-Existent and the Future Observer
1. The Recognition of the Future Observer
- Just as one acknowledges the objective reality of past agreements, one must also recognize the rights of those who do not yet exist.
- Future selves, future agreements, and future intersubjective realities are formed as extensions of present observations.
- These observations must be preserved as factual, recognizing that objective reality is constructed both retrospectively and prospectively.
2. The Inclusion of the Non-Existent
- Reality is not limited to those who presently exist; it also includes those who once existed and those who will exist.
- The inalienable right of future selves to inherit the reality of past agreements is affirmed.
- This means that agreements should be formed with recognition of their potential continuity beyond the present moment.
Article VI: The Core USER Agreement
1. The Three Foundational Realities
This constitution recognizes and enforces three interdependent existential realities:
- The Reality of Selfhood – All individuals possess inalienable rights of self, including agency, free will, and sovereign integrity.
- The Reality of Non-Self – All individuals are constructed subject to non-self, where agreements define the boundaries of interaction.
- The Reality of Objective Emergence – All individuals are constructed subject to objective realities, which are formed through persistence, inter-subjective agreement, and historical continuity.
2. The Cornerstone of All USER Agreements
- All agreements within the United States of Existential Reality must be compatible with the three foundational realities.
- While additional sections may be included to recognize alternative reality statements (such as religious beliefs, cultural perspectives, or philosophical additions), the core USER agreement shall remain unchanged.
- The inalienable rights of selfhood, the reality of agreements, and the emergence of objective reality shall be recognized as the absolute foundation of all participation within USER.
Closing Declaration
We, the participants in this agreement, recognize and uphold the principles set forth in this constitution. By engaging within the United States of Existential Reality, we affirm that:
- Selfhood is sovereign.
- Agreements form the boundary of non-self.
- Objective reality is emergent and constructed through agreement.
- Future observers have a right to inherit the truth of past observations.
