The Ruler — The Two Watchmakers

The setup. Three two-by-two grids on one rod: the being grid at 0, the knowing grid at 1, the computing grid at 2. The ruler is held to its own account — one straight axis, equal gaps — and has one power: it decides the gap at every lawful asking, and the gap is the only thing it ever answers with. Two blind watchmakers hold the rod’s two ends with one power each: their own duration. The knowing grid holds both of the ruler’s faces at once (observably communicable from being’s side, communicably effectual from computing’s) until it is asked; it is frozen between them by the lockstep — a half-turn about the rod’s axis with every tick, the turn being the asking, cancelling the walk of the blank — and hidden by the key, a quarter or three-quarter turn given blind, which looks clockwise from one end and anticlockwise from the other. Six rungs were registered before the read and landed in two readings of record. Reading one’s four refutations are kept with full standing: a watchmaker who knows the ruler’s layout reads the side from the diagonal, and neither the lockstep nor the key hides it. Reading two made the layout the fourth blind choice and every rung passed. The discipline: three frames, one order, no clock; a watchmaker’s frame is built only by the engine’s projection; every measure is an exact identity over the enumerated space; no random draw anywhere. The fences bind every panel: nothing claimed beyond the declared conventions; the sliver rule a measure, not a physics; the count K not staked; no claim on any Millennium Prize problem, ever; no claim about consciousness or phenomenal experience, ever. The setup in brief, the protocol, the engine’s dry witness recomputed now (the view map’s sense, the one-watchmaker pad, the lone lockstep, the layout’s two facts), and the standing of both readings — derived from the engine, never asserted here.

The record — two readings, refutations first

Each reading shows its registration pin (sha256 over LF bytes, recomputed against the file now), the read’s window, the six verdicts as landed, the pad table, the frontier, and the whole results file. The first record stands; the second supersedes it and never edits it.

A world, seen from three frames

Choose the four blind choices (the original side, the two keys, the layout), the asking word (each letter is a watchmaker asking, in order), the ruler’s policy, the second eyes’ offset, and the variants. The engine runs that one world and returns the ruler’s frame and both watchmakers’ streams, frame by frame. A pure computation over the same engine the read used; nothing is written; a run is never an act. Each small square is the knowing grid as that watchmaker sees it: 1 lit, 0 the blank, C the letter corners; a gold outline marks where the far end grid’s blank shows through the sliver when it is readable.
