The discipline. The station the fast coolers needed, and the OVX’s saturation-resistant segment-wise door, opened together: THE SEGMENT-SPAN PROFILE — twelve exact open-chain min spans per fold state (16 letters each, no closure) and their total. A 9 in one segment pins nothing elsewhere (saturation-resistant); the profile exists AT THE FOLD even for a register that cools in one step; and the open span is NOT capped by the ambient — the chain (9,1,9) is infeasible in [0,9] and needs 10, the chain (5,1,5) needs 6 against a loudest letter of 5. THE FIRST NEW COUNTING MACHINERY SINCE THE DEEP FOLD, brute-checked in the selftest and floor-checked in production.
