The Calibration of the Two Registers — the face: the ontological five against the onto-epistemic five

the fives as the point of calibration, prior to the local 0 · an interactive engine over the bend
Two registers of one plate. The first setting — D 1.1, h 0.05, z's column −1, z at 1 resolving 2 — whose five lock points are the first epoch's inner marks, rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10: his ontological register. His plate's measures — D 4.26, h 0.714, z's column −1, z at 40 resolving 80 — whose five are the fourth epoch's, rows 32, 34, 36, 38, 40: his onto-epistemic register. Each is drawn in its own frame, its locked line at −1 and the meeting line at 0; the mapping between them by a rule you choose; the ladders of their bends; and the second register's ladder table, with the structure his workbook found in it. The bend stands at /rlx/bend, the learner's face at /rlx/learner.
What this instrument is, and his word it was built for

His word (23 October 2026): "The second register calibrated to the first will be the matter of the next experiment, as I wish to create from this another instrument that can then be used in a different experiment. I'd like you to build a way for me to visualize how the two registers can be calibrated on the ontological '5' and the 'onto-epistemic' 5 that are the registers point of callibration, prior to the local 0."

As the house reads it: in each register the five lock points — the inner marks past z's registration and short of the meeting line — are the point of calibration; in the first they stand 0.9 past the registration and 0.1 short of the line, in the second 0.74 past and 0.26 short. A rule maps the first onto the second — by the binding mark's amplitude (1 to 4), by D, by s (the ladder's own constant), by the pitch, or by the margin — and the residuals are what the rule does not carry. In units of their own s the two ladders are the one series 1/k, nine steps against thirty-nine, the ninth of the first masked by the flip. The ladder table carries the rows his workbook summed and his chain of folds, run exact and as the table rounds. A pure computation in this process; nothing written; nothing here is a claim.

The plates — each register in its own frame

Left, the first register; right, the second. Each X side: the locked line at −1, the meeting line at 0, x in units of its D, depth in units of its span; the inner marks inward of the line, the outer marks outward; z's registration column in ash; the five lock points ringed gold with the margin and the offset past the registration annotated. On the right, the first's five carried by the rule — translucent accent — as far as the overlay slider takes them, so the residual is seen as the distance left.

The two ladders

Above, each ladder's thresholds h_k on a log axis of the pitch — the first's nine steps (accent) and the second's thirty-nine (gold), the current pitches as dashed lines, a masked step hollow. Below, the same in units of each register's s, where both are the one series 1/k.

The ladder table of the second register, and his chain

Every step of the second register's ladder; the chosen rows shaded; the sum of the chosen rows exact, as the table's decimals give it, and in double precision; his chain of folds (curious.xlsx) run on each, his labels beside. The seven rows his workbook took are the seven the note's table showed.

The seats, as the house set them — his to move
  • the fives — in each register, the lock points: the inner marks of the binding epoch, past z's registration and short of the meeting line; the first's at rows 2 to 10, the second's at 32 to 40.
  • the rule — one ratio carries the first five onto the second; the house offers five and chooses none; the residuals are what the ratio does not carry.
  • the ladders — h_k = √((D + EPS)² − a²)/k for the deepest inner mark short of the line; in units of s both are 1/k; the first's ninth step is masked by the flip of row 39 and waits.
  • the table and his chain — the structure he found rests on the rows chosen and the decimals the table gives; the chain is reproduced on each so the dependence is seen, and judged nowhere.
